About Innate Texture —

Innate Texture is a multicultural cutting, styling, and education salon built to care for every fabric and movement of hair. We believe all hair is good hair.

Founded by Brittany Ussery, a licensed cosmetologist with 16+ years of experience, Innate Texture is currently open in Fishers, Indiana and relocating to Indianapolis this fall.

Some ways we are different:

✦ Hourly pricing — each artist sets their own rate, shown at booking. No surprises.

✦ Gratuity-free — Tips are not accepted here. Instead, we ask that you leave a Google review, refer a friend, or purchase products directly through us. That’s what actually moves the needle for our community.

✦ Our stylists are trained to work across all hair textures — wavy, curly, coily, natural, transitioning, and everything in between. If it grows from your head, we know what to do with it.

  • We don’t price by age or gender — we price by time. Every service at Innate Texture is based on hourly pricing. Your stylist sets their rate, and your total is determined by how long your appointment takes. That’s it. No upcharges based on who’s in the chair. You’ll see the rate and estimated time when you book so you always know what to expect before you sit down.

  • No — and we mean it. No tip jar, no prompt on the card reader, no awkward moment at checkout. Our pricing model is designed so stylists are compensated fairly without relying on gratuity. Tipping is not expected or accepted at Innate Texture.
